I was surprised when a Doctor talked about marathons and how many people get To much water. Drinking to much water can make us literally drown in ourselves. He, don't get him wrong, but to much water isn't a good thing. He would prefer to see people drink something more like Powerade or Gatorade. When we sweat a lot we lose vital minerals. I personally know that if I get dehydrated, water just not cut it.  But, Powerade will get me back on track in a very short time. Energy drinks and pop do just the opposite and rob you of the nutrients that you need. Be good to your body and use water and one of the nutrient replacing drinks alternating.  Works great for me.

What’s Your Home’s Real Value?     As a society, it seems like we’ve gotten away from appreciating our homes for their emotional and sentimental worth. Instead, we focus solely on their monetary value.  An Appraiser Can Estimate A Home’s Monetary Value, But To Gain A True Concept Of Your Home’s Worth, You Must Also Take Into Consideration: Pride Of Ownership. You don’t buy a pair of Prada shoes because you’re going to be able to resell them and make a profit. You buy them because they make you look good and feel good. Security And Stability.  Your home provides a roof over your head that’s in your control. You can decorate it how you want. You don’t have to worry about a landlord selling the property or asking you to move out. In the “olden days” (or should I say “golden days”), we call...

One of the highest needs for the food shelves is right after a major Holiday.  And the short time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is even a harder time. It is a short time to re-stock the shelves and between bad weather and the extra expenses for our own Holidays, we sometimes don't give like we usually do. This year my wife and I have pledged to give what we normally do for this time of the year. For us it just seams like the right thing to do.

I was told the other day that I follow the wrong change of seasons. I go from Fishing to Hunting this time of year. I guess I am wrong.  I have been informed that we have gone from Baseball season to FOOTBALL season. With this new information I will consider myself.... CORRECTED!   I will take baseball over football any day.  I do like football, but it is not my favorite.

Well, for some reason some of the ladies don't quite agree with us, guys! So, I will try one more time.   Why pay for high club fees?  This is fun for the entire family. These chairs are sturdy and safe. You can only stand a a Segway for so long. The door knob will never slip out of your hand again. I have seen these and Had a plan to do one also, but... Great for the movie room.  Just need a bit of surround sound... Another money savor.  Think of the cost to go to a driving range and add the cost of gas!   Last but far from least... What every man should HAVE! I rest my case!

Many times we don't think the kids are listening.  But every now and again they prove us wrong. When we are proven wrong, it is usually at a good time.   A Sunday school teacher was discussing the 10 Commandments with 5 and 6 year olds. After explaining the Commandment of honor your Thy Father and Thy Mother...the teacher asked... What commandment tells us how to treat our Brothers and Sisters>   Someone from the back piped up..."Thou shalt not kill!"   Yes, kids get it!

I have a seller that just does not seam to get it. I need personal information now that we are getting to closing. I seam to get it, but only in bits and pieces as I go along only to find there is more to the story. Well, I don't like to talk about my personal life. I get that, but I need to know.  I can't help if you hide things from me. I (WE) are not the enemy, so stop treating us as one.

In today's world of get it for as little as possible, isn't always the way to go. I compare the junk at Walmart and what my local Hardware store has...(A mom and pop shop). Yes I pay a bit more but I get GOOD stuff. Same goes for repairs. I have a list of contractors... Most are mid priced to the lower end. I don't have any that claim to be the cheapest because I don't want my clients to complain about shoddy work. You can buy cheap now and replace it later or...buy decent now and have it for a long time.

Cambridge and Isanti, MN were among the hardest hit Minnesota areas for foreclosures when the Real Estate bubble burst.  Now the market is headed back up and prices are recovering a little.  There still are foreclosures happening in the area, but that has slowed down considerably. The main thing I am seeing when it comes to first time home buyer type of homes that there is very very few options out there.  Thus, for sellers who have homes they could list and sell in the $150,000 price range and under; now is a great time to put your home for sale.  I think buyers are willing to pay $5000 to $10,000 higher then the home might really want to, but almost have to to get a home now. The summer market tends to slow down buyers and sellers a little. People have lots to do and that sometimes pu...

Here is a tip for all of you who have the blood sucking bugs. Cutter Backyard bug control. I have a client that used it and I was back 2 days later and not a single mosquito. This stuff should last a few weeks.  It hooks onto your garden hose and you water your grass. I am going to the store to get some tonight so I can enjoy being outside more.

For those who use worms to fish with, especially night crawlers, here is an easy trick. Worms you need to dig and you may not have a place to do so.  Buying worms and night crawlers can be spendy. So this is what I do...it is sorta the lazy man's way but it works. When it rains, I go to a small parking lot or on the road in fromt of my home when the traffic is low and I take an ice cream bucket and a dust pan.  The worms will be crawling on the road.  Very hard to pick up with your fingers.  So, use the dust pan to just bump the worm lightly and it will curl up.  Then with a quick sweeping motion with the dust pan you can pick the worm up with very little effort and no injury to the worm. I get all my night crawlers this way.  After you have collected enough, put them in a larger contai...

I am always amazed at people who throw caution to the wind.  I don't mean spending and extra 10 bucks on the lottery. I am talking about life in general.  People who don't stop and think about the consequences of thier actions and how they will be viewed by others for a LONG time. One stupid act, dishonest act, selfish act or whatever, people will remember and you will be labeled. Do you wnat to be viewed as a top notch person, then you need to act that way.  Remember...someone is always watching!

NO Contingent offers! As any agent that is selling a foreclosure or a short sale and all will tell you that the lender will NOT take a contingent offer. We tell our clients this.  We explain that looking at a bank owned property is not helping them when they can't buy one anyway. I got this again today.  My clients have to sell their home before they can buy the next one.   It is really simple...if your offer is contingent on you selling your home...in other words you have to sell the current home or you can't afford to buy the new house...looking at a home that will not take a contingent offer is wasting everyine's time.

Great Staging Tips To Set A Buyer’s Mood At Your Home For Sale   Staging is the art of preparing your Isanti home for sale before showing it to prospective buyers. The point of staging is to highlight the house’s strengths, downplay its weaknesses and make it more appealing. With the right decorating techniques, you can win buyers over the moment they step through the door. Below are a few staging tips to help make your house irresistible to potential buyers. Put Everything Away The first step is to put away anything that is not essential. This will open up the house so that it appears more spacious. Even if you have to rent a storage unit, finding a new home for all of your family’s projects and collections should clear some space and help buyers imagine their own belongings in your ho...

4 Critical Tips When Purchasing Foreclosure Real Estate   Buying a foreclosed property in North Branch and the surrounding area can be different than buying other types of real estate. In many cases you will be able to get a fantastic deal on a home, but you will need to go through quite a bit of work and negotiation. Here are four tips to help you navigate the foreclosure buying process: Find the right real estate agent The first thing to keep in mind is that your real estate broker will deal directly with the bank that owns the foreclosed property. The bank has the final say in whether they’ll accept your bid – so you want an agent who has developed a good relationship with them. Know that cheap doesn’t mean good value Sometimes the tiny price tag on a foreclosed property can be very ...

58 degrees today here in North Branch Minnesota. No, not a record, but still very nice.   I call days like this 'Bonus Days' because of the extra stuff you can get done compared to a normal year. My wife is putting in the stakes for much of the Christmas Display she does.  I am cutting more wood and a friend of mine decided it was great for one more round of Golf. No matter the activity, Get Out and enjoy this great weather! Ok, so it isn't time for Spring Flowers, but, one can dream can't they!

...and he has taken common sense with him! I had a visitor this evening, only it was not for me.  Nope.  It was for my neighbor. This really nice Caddie come pulling into the drive. A middle aged man and lady got out. (Have to be careful who I call old now days) "Your not Sam." the guy said. "NO you are right, I am not.  Who are you looking for?" "Sam and Mary, our friends just bought a log home on this road." "Oh sure, they live a mile back the way you come." "But, this is where our GPS told us to turn into."  "Well, I am sorry but I am not Sam and this is NOT a log home.  The people you are looking for are a mile that way." Then he replied..."Are you sure, our GPS said this is it." At this point I was almost laughing at the denseness of this guy.  He should be really glad my hose was ...
