The Village of Pinckney's Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has configured the Farmers' Market and their successful community yard sale into a combined, once per month market.Expected vendors will range from produce, baked goods, arts and crafts, flowers, home goods and more. On Sunday, October 28, 2012 I ran the Run thru Hell Halloween 5k race in Hell, Michigan.There was also a 8k race as well which my husband did. Hell, Michigan is well known, not only for its name, but for being a fantastic venue to do a race near Hell's Creek Ranch."Dances with Dirt" is an infamous and extreme race in Hell, Michigan.There are great trails, dirt roads and hills to challenge you in Hell, Michigan.I had just run the Headless Horseman 5k race in Howell, Michigan the night before (read my blog about that experience).I was still excited about the 5k race from the night before and couldn't wait to do another one.  I was so proud to do two 5k races within 12 hours of each other. I even beat my time by two minutes on this race vs the one from the night before even though the Run ... 10/30/2012

My kids went to this school.  A dedicated pre-K and Kindergarten building at the time, it was a wonderful transition to elementary school for them, and many others.  But Pinckney Schools, like many other Michigan School Districts, has been losing families and school age children and had some tough choices to make.  They’re still making them, for that matter. I recently drove through downtown Pinckney (Village) and a turn down a side street brought me to the now boarded up school.  It’s a sad and too common sight – buildings that were an integral part of a community sitting unused.  I knew that voters had approved a bond issue to reuse this building as the new Pinckney Community Library but of course it takes time to go through the formalities of site plan approval, construction bids and... 12/09/2011

 Pinckney MI Chain of Lakes Livingston and Washtenaw Counties have a "chain of lakes" which include Portage, Little Portage, Baseline, Gallagher, Whitewood, Strawberry, Zukey, and Ore Lakes.  I would call the Portage Chain of lakes it "Pontoon heaven". Depending on who you talk to the chain of lakes is called Portage chain of lakes, or Pinckney Chain of lakes, Or Huron River chain of lakes.      .Many residents enjoy leisurely touring the lakes and river canals, which can take up to two hours from one end of the Chain to the other. The Pinckney boys cross country team won its third consecutive state title this past Saturday at MIS. It's been 50 years since a team has taken three state championships in a row, the last time being in 1955-1957 by Lansing Eastern.Pinckney runner Brian Hankins ran in 5th place for most of the race, then made a move to take top finisher. Along with Hankins, fellow Pirate runner Mike Katsefaras and Brighton runner Matt Neely also earned state honors, awarded to the top 30.Congratulations to the Pinckney team and to coach Tom Carney for their impressive victory streak. 11/04/2007

This Saturday, October 13th, the Helluva Western Trail Ride will take place in Livingston County, beginning along the Lakelands Trail and continuing throught the Pinckney State Recreation Area and ending at the Brighton State Recreation Area.Patterned after the Cowboy Capital Trail Ride in Bandera, Texas, this day long ride will follow many cowboy traditions like obeying directions from the trail boss and his two assistants, and not passing the point or side scouts.
