We the citizens of this Great State of Michigan, Land of the Great Lakes, need to start asking our state representatives and local, county and state governments to get to the bottom...no pun intended... of the outrageous loss of water from the Great Lakes. This photo was taken where the once deep canal housed boats.  Boats are now grounded and you have to go out a quarter of a mile to get to water.    This same canal had water in April.  7 months later this is how low the water has gone. I don't think government officials understand the magnitude of this loss but it will be catastrophic in the near future when the once mighty Great Lakes turn into sand dunes...and the HIGH TAXES received from lakefront properties are gone, so is the tax base. We need answers and this stopped soon before... 10/31/2012
