Do you hear it;Do you see it;Did you get it;No, no ...not speaking to the congressional 'dance' ongoing; Not indicating any local & state items up for discussion;Never intending to make this a political posting.Am speaking of the recent almost all night-time "Rains".  With more predicted for today, tonight & into Friday / Saturday. What then, might be the problem around here ?Let me first explain--we--here in our part of Macomb County, Michigan--are under a watering-ban-rule..more accurately, we CAN water via sprinklers of the automatic type as long as we follow the Odd-Even [we are Even] days; water only between 12:00 am and 6:00am. The truth I swear--boy do I swear! We have been following the ban as to days and almost to time of night; due to the fact that we don't let the sprinklers do...

December 22, 2010:...the traffic is nuts;...the shoppers are 'nuttier';...the roads get icy only at night;...the temps. are pretty good [26 * at 8:40 pm];...the folks pushing shopping carts run you over with glee;...restaurants are filled with tired shoppers, or those filling up before hitting the malls; We thought that all our going out into the public venues was over for the year;We thought incorrectly.Shopping at Randazzo Fruit & Vegetable Market on Hayes Rd, just North of 22 Mi Rd. in Macomb Twp was a trip in and of itself. ... The crowd around the Olive & other olive-oil products was deep & busy.  Hands reaching over  under yours as    you made your selections;... The fresh vegetable counters were filled & ready for shoppers; unfortunately--one of those women who MUST carry     the ...

Only because the sun was out, did I decide to add some more 'Snow Shots' to the site; The natural "black & White with a little color thrown in"  of photos taken the 'day after-in the sunshine' make for some great shotsLove to see the play of light & dark [chiaroscuro] that can be found within nature;...in sand & sun;...in clouds in skies;...in snow & sun. Some I did edit with utilizing the spectrun of choices in the "Effects" area or the "Create" section in ;picnikOthers all I did was resize, sharpen, play with exposures & use 'frames' in "Create"Will post original & some 'edits' for you.All were taken in our fenced back yard and involve the lamp, patio cover, arch, & trellises; All were taken from various positions; All were taken as the sun moved slowly across the area [ or the rotation o...

You know the drill: ...IF plans are made: ...PLANS will be changed...IF you have written it on your calendar...YOU should have done so in erasable ink...IF you are ready to get started...THEY are behind in general scheduleAll the best laid plans.....often go awryFound out that construction will N OT begin until the end of MAY! That means the 4-6 weeks is extended. That also means that Things in remodel or reface is really going well here in Macomb County, MIHow cool is that. Last weekend Ed and I ran The Crim Festival of Races, a 10 mile race through the streets of Flint MI. It's a fun race but getting to the finish line requires training and commitment. This means running in the rain, getting up early when it's hot or if we you have early appointments and running when you really do not feel like it. Bottom-line it requires a commitment and a goal. For Ed and I running started back in 2002 - our sons had all left for college and being empty nesters kinda made me feel well kinda empty.  So, I decided to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation and run a full marathon. However, I was not a runner and a full marathon is 26.2 miles. Needless to say Ed was not feeling my excitement but he came around once he met the coach with Joints in Motion. We started our tr...

Macomb Township MI has 2 of the most beautiful and state of the art municipal buildings for its residents.   These buildings  for Macomb Township are located south off 25 Mile Road on Broughton Road. (Approximately 1/2 mile east of Romeo Plank)                 The main municipal building houses the following departments:  Assessing, building, planning & zoning, treasurer, and other official township business.  If you have recently purchased a new home on Macomb Township you will be visiting the municipal office to turn in your Homestead Exemption form as well as your Property Tax Affadivit. It would be worth your time while you are there to go across the street to the Parks and Recreation Department and tour it.           The Parks & Recreation building is the finest I have seen in Mac...

My hair dresser is Sheila at Diamond Pet Salon in Macomb Township. My mom and dad meet Sheila a few years ago when they sold her condo in Mt. Clemens. Her pet salon is located at 46808 Hayed Rd. just south of 21 Mile in Macomb Township, 48044. Sheila is a great groomer and trust me I have been to quite a few. My parents are pretty fussy when it comes to my grooming and as you can see she did a great job. Don't you just love the bows and scarf. Sheila's mom makes these by hand. At Diamond Pet Salon you'll notice right when you walk in the door that they care about their customers. They start talking to you and put you right at ease. They even make my parents comfortable about leaving me. Sometimes I have to wait a little while but I don't mind because the cages are clean and right out ...

Buying Bank Owned Homes Frank J. Wasung 1/11/2009 "Only send me bank foreclosures"! This statement is made to me so often from home buyers who are looking for the best deal. Many feel that the only way to accomplish this is to purchase a bank owned home. This may or may not always be the case, depending on the purchasers willingness to accept "as is condition", their ability to refurbish/refinish a home, and their ability/willingness to jump all over the best deal. Let's talk about some common issues involved with buying a bank owned home. Bank owned means that this home has been foreclosed on, gone through the process of the bank obtaining possession of the house, and the loan redemption period for the previous owner should be expired. It hits the market from a listing real estate brok...

What a wonderful day for the Military. As we were watching the ceremony todaywe both were struck by the excitement surrounding the commissioning.  The fact that this is the last WWII class era ship and a President who at age 18 made his first journey to "service to the / Our Country" during that time and  as a Naval pilot flying bombers off a 'street in the seas'.      makes one proud. To know that this is the last of this Class of ships honoring Admiral Nimitz. To hear about the History of the building of thisShip; To find out how nature seemed to slow the process down; To listen to Our President George W. Bushcomment on this part of the story by saying..."I brought along my own force of nature...my Mother..."    All Mothers out there must have had a great laugh; oh yes, the true force o...

From our Home in Fall of 2008     to You Active Rainers in 2009;     Happy prosperous New Year        today  and     all Year Long.      The day this picture was taken, with my new camera, turned out to be one of the most Spectactular skies I have  seen since moving here in 1997.   A Bright, Crispt, Majestic type of day.  A day that makes you happy to be alive.   If I could have photoshopped this sky, I could never have improved on God's Handiwork.  This is a corner lot & as I came around it to the front of our Home, the view was breathtaking, so much so, that I almost forgot to try out the camera.  So Glad that I regained my senses and this picture was captured.  A few moments later and the cloud formation had changed to ordinary; the wind kicked up enough to forcast Fall rains, & the ...
