There are currently 4 Lake homes for sale on Zukey Lake in Livingston County Michigan.  Zukey Lake is part of the Portage Chain of Lakes on the Huron River.   Zukeyis a very shallow lake with many of the docks stretching out far into the lake.  Most people do not do any water sports on the lake.  They elect to go over to Strawberry or Portage Lake where there is more room. I received a call today from a prospective lakefront home buyer that was interested in Southeastern Michigan lake homes under $80,000. The problem is that to get on a good lake or even get a livable home in the Southeastern Michigan area on a lake you are going to be paying $100,000 - $150,000.   If you look at all the lake front homes that sold in the last year there are only 3 on what I would call good sized lakes.  As a local realtor I have been in many of the under $100,000 houses.  Some of them need to be completely torn down and you would be buying it for the property only.  The buyer on the phone was expecting a nice 1000 square foot house on a big lake for under $80,000.  That isn't very likely to happen.  So I didn't want to get their hopes up.  BUT there are some homes that ar... 09/07/2010

I want to say I have to hand it too Michigan State Spartan football team.  They played a heck of a game against Iowa.  To lose the game with 2 seconds left was a heartbreaker.  They played tough and they played well. To all the young men on the team when you look at yourself in the mirror tomorrow be proud.  You may have lost but I'm proud of you and I'm sure many other people are in Michigan.  Football games sometimes are won with one key play and Iowa did it.  But you made us proud by playing a great game.   10/24/2009

A popular subject in our office this week and one of our family members got locked into a bathroom when the door locking mechanism broke and jammed. A few years ago one of our other agents got locked into a bathroom when the single woman buyer was with him in the house. The bathroom didn't have a window so the event proved to be frustrating and very funny. So, here is a quick set of tips: 1. Relax. Unless the home is on fire it is not life threatening.
