this is a little tidbit I haven't mentioned anywhere except to clients that have retained me to help them get their marketing in order. My last office location was on a main street but didn't seem to generate alot of walkin traffic. So I had an idea and bought an A-framed sandwich board from ebay and put the following message on it! As of July 2008, there is a new Online Reporting System, which allows residents to make various types of Police reports over the Internet. The Police ask that you only use this system if it meets the following criteria: Do NOT use this system if this is an emergency.  If you have an emergency please call 911 immediately. The incident must have occurred within the City of Dearborn limits. There are no known suspects involved (excluding gas drive-off or defrauding an innkeeper incidents). Sure the house is not in the top Metro Detroit area BUT THE HOUSE IS BEAUTIFUL.  This guy has taken the time to get it ready for sale.  He has painted the house neutral. He has put in new carpet because he couldn't shampoo out the stains in the old carpeting.  The carpeting is neutral too. All the little things like leaky faucets, loose door knobs, squeaky doors have been fixed. there is just enough furniture to make it look good, to make the small house look spacious. The house looks good from the outside.  It has curb appeal. With all the Michigan foreclosures and homes across the country it is extremely important when buying a home that you get a home inspection done by a professional.  When you buy a Michigan home from a bank you are buying it "as is".  What that means is that the bank is not going to fix anything.  So if you do not like what you get in the inspection report you either ask for a price reduction or you walk from the deal.  Make sure your real estate agent has an inspection clause in the contract that allows you to do this.Here are a couple of examples lately that prove my point.  A 2400 square foot home in Farmington was going for under $125,000.  They signed the contract and then had an inspection done.  Come to find out that Michigan foreclosure had a bad well and septic system.  That ban... 04/01/2008
