As we get further and further into summer, it's becoming quite clear that Maine is in for a beautiful one! Not just weather wise, but also in the real estate market. And York is a perfect example of this! Real estate transaction volume was up 5% this quarter, compared to last year, and median real estate prices were up 14%. We think that this means really great things are in store for this area, and Southern Maine!   And why shouldn't it be? York is a beautiful and fun place to call home, with various tourist attractions and things to do, all year round! From York's beaches to the coolest Animal Kingdom you're sure to see in Maine, you and your family can have a lifetime of fun.   If you want to know more about York, visit Herrigel Kennedy's site or drop us a line at herrigelkennedy@gm...

Prices have come down and interest rates are still doing well...Many buyers are hoping to come into the Maine market and get a lot for their money....but the truth is that many sellers have already marked prices as low as they possibly can....Sellers today are having to go to closing with some cash in order to clear title...Buyers may want to understand the market that they are shopping in first of all.....for example Biddeford is a little different from Ogunquit....and the prices will dictate that....It is nice to see buyers doing their homework over the internet before seeking to see a property, but keep in mind that many properties out there are in an up side down loan and sellers can decrease their prices just so far..Overall many properties are closing at 15% under the accessed val...

June 2008 and buyers are still holding out........prices have come down and interest rates are still doing well...but buyers know that it is a buyers market and are expecting to benefit from it....Where many properties were selling 3 years ago 15% above assessed value...today properties are selling either at or just under the assessed value....Many buyers are hoping to come into the Maine market and get a lot for their money....but the truth is that many sellers have already marked prices as low as they possibly can....Many sellers today are having to go to closing with some cash in order to clear title...Buyers may want to understand the market that they are shopping in first of all.....for example Biddeford is a little different from Ogunquit....and the prices will dictate that....It ...

Market Conditions for York, MaineReported by Bruce Edgerly, REALTORUpdated October 23, 2007. Current Market Rating: 112345Buyer'sSeller'sCurrent Price Trend: 212345FallingRisingThough the market has gotten weaker in some areas...properties closest to the ocean are still moving...Summer of 2007 even exceeded that of 2006...Buyers are still looking and know that this is the time to be buying before the market bounces back to the sellers court. It is now fall 2007 and calls are still coming in which leads me to believe that 2008 should be even better. Though the market has dropped drastically in other states, Maine is holding its own and sales have increased since 2006. This is a very good sign for Southern Maine Real Estate. It appears that buyers are trying to lock in to their second hom...
