I'm so grateful this summer (and really the entire year) has been bustling with Feng Shui Consultations (virtually and in-person) one after another! :) During the month of August, I made sure to carve out some much-needed rest and reset time. Well, maybe not fully rest, as my idea of a vacation is going on an adventure!A friend and I took a road trip up to Maine from New York, and one of the stops along our road trip was in Portland, ME. This was a tasty stop for sure! Everyone always speaks highly about the amazing flavor of Maine lobster and you know what?! They are absolutely right! I've never tasted such sweet, succulent lobster in my life!! If you happen to find yourself exploring the old streets of Portland, please be sure to have a cup of chowder at Gilbert's Chowder House.  In p...

It's spring! It just doesn't feel like it yet. But as we are stuck in this wintry spring in between season, real estate properties on the market right now are springing forward, especially in Portland. 2013 was a great year for Portland condos and real estate, as the overall transaction volume was up 25% since 2012.  Condos in Portland are a seriously hot commodity, especially when you consider how popular it is to live on or near the water in downtown Portland. If you're not looking for a home, and you're over renting apartments, investing in a condo in Portland is the perfect thing to consider purchasing. This is a city that, while small, has so many things to do and see, packed into a very easy to navigate and vibrant downtown area. Portland condos are the prime real estate right no...

On the first Friday of each month many galleries in and around the downtown, East End, West End and Old Port areas of Portland open their shops from 5:00 to 8:00PM for the public to wander through and gaze at the often new displays of art work.  Known as the First Friday Art Walk , this event exposes many local (and some not so local) artists in a relaxed venue. The Portland Museum of Art opens its doors for free (always free on any Friday) and always has wonderful changing exhibits along with permanent exhibits of works from all over the world. This is just one of many cultural/social events available in Portland throughout the year. If you are considering a visit to Portland, you may consider working your stay around the first week of the month to include this fun event in your itiner...

Portland is the most populated city in Maine with around 65,000 residents. Portland’s Downtown is the center of work and play for many area residents, as well as a destination of tourism for millions of visitors each year. The Downtown area is home to a mix of small businesses and larger companies, but there are some condos and multi-family dwellings for sale. At a median price of 220K, a condo in Downtown Portland can provide all the conveniences of living in a much larger urban area at a fraction of the price. A hub of cultural opportunities in southern Maine, Downtown Portland has nightlife, great restaurants and coffee shops, art galleries and interesting boutiques. Open parks and green spaces add to Downtown Portland’s friendly atmosphere. It is a pedestrian and bike friendly city,...
