Maine is the lowest state for violent crime and fourth lowest nationally overall for the rest of the generic wrong doings, any foul play. That get tallied, added up, rolled in to the grisly crime statistics. In the head count for anyone destined for an all expenses taxpayer paid crow bar hotel stay. For three hots and a cot. Being schooled, adding a "license plate making 101" skill to your resume. But Maine State Police cruisers, you probably have seen a few. And not thought much about it. But they sure look familiar don't they? Not because your last trip to Vacationland you were a little too boisterous, clown like at happy hour. Or stole a car, robbed a bank or ended up with your best side, picture profile in black and white. Posted along with rows of other grim, long faced individuals...

The FHA 203k is a great loan product for someone that is looking to buy a home that may need some repairs made to the home to have the home in a condition that someone can move in. It is also a great product for building contractors to know about because they will not have to worry about receiving payment for the repairs that they perform on home. So don't let there being some repairs having to be done to a home scare you away from a home that has a tremendous amount of potential.

Servicemen and women around the globe, hunkered down and with a soldier's job to do and easily forgotten unless you have a family member in the same trenches. The 2 in the morning alert about a troop plane landing at your local airport gets volunteers, greeters in to gear. Sometimes the troop greeting is highly organized for one lone soldier. In Bangor Maine, there is one highly publicized network to make sure a plane full of troops if they are passing through BIA airport are going to get a warm, local welcome. Hands of the soldier taken, shaken and plenty of congratulations and grateful thanks for the job they do extended to GI Joe and Jane.  "Welcome home heroes" filmed about the the troop greetings at BIA and you will need a tissue. Guarantee this Maine video clip will choke you up, ...

This is the West Broadway Bangor Maine home horror writer, author Stephen King owns with wife Tabitha, also a writer. Does the place with the iron gate, bats fit the person living there? And for real estate agents, brokers, REALTORS on Active Rain, would the place they call home match what you would guess? Like dogs, cats, pets that look like their owners thinking. Where do you live, why and is your real estate office part of, near by that home?  Years ago, our Houlton Maine office was in the end of a farm house I grew up in and now own. It helped when real estate buyers wanting a country home with land, a farm drove in and thought this broker is not working out of a second story chrome and glass typical office setting with egg shell painted walls and boring brown, earth tone colored in...

Maine housewives...around the 10 - 2 time slot listening to Bangor Maine Radio...liked to tune in to Z-62. Tim Comer was the crooner that had the following of this audience segment. I was Z-62 radio news director and did weekend music shifts after college.      The radio jacket Tim wore was embroidered with the expression "You are never too old to rock and roll?" He was in his early 50's at the time. Tim had goats, lived on a hobby farm with his wife and was trying to be somewhat self sufficient. But his on air Maine radio job was not like a job and he was good at it. In any product or service sale, your advertising has niche audiences but still overall, the larger the audience the better. Unless you are selling brain surgery tools, diamond cutting devices which are a pretty narrow...

The Mortgage Interest Rate Lock Advisory for Bangor ME for September 29, 2009 Here are some of the events affecting mortgage interest rates today in Bangor, Maine. What the Mortgage Backed Securities Market is Doing Today: The price of the FNMA 30-Year 4.5% MBS coupon opened down 1/32 at 101.31. The price of the FNMA 30-Year 4.5% MBS coupon closed up 7/32 yesterday at 101.34 (as shown by the white line). MBS wa down as much as 6/32 this morning, but is currently trading up 1/32 at 101.36 (as shown by the blue line). Common themes heard by a Maine real estate broker when traveling to and fro in the Jeep showing property or in emails, thru phone conversations. "The nice town I used to live in is not anymore and everyone on my street has moved".  What happened? People, lots of people.      Traffic grew on roads not designed for that bumper to bumper mob. Safety went down the tubes with the influx of people from all four directions. Insurance costs went up with the crime and the bright sky filled with nightly stars is not so bright anymore with light pollution and industrial smog. Schools, police, local government and housing sprawl happened. But there is an escape route. That's where Maine comes in.      You are not cowardly bailing out. The nice little town you used to live in is still in your head, ...

The expressions...facts, just the facts in detective work, news reporting were the benchmark to seek for years, decades, centuries. To not introduce speculation, to let personal agendas to influence the news and to avoid drama, spin, sensationalizing was the basis of good factual news reporting years ago. Now as talking heads want to be the news as much as covering it to advance their career and as news becomes entertaining, flip, cool, the 5 w's are lost in the shuffle, the shift. Wrote an article on MeInMaine blog this morning about my life as an earlier Maine record spinners, news gatherer. Capturing live audio from the Bangor Maine, state newsmakers was a new thing for small time radio used to only reading/heading news about the local area if it was on the wire service. Does everyth...
