Saving the Church In Springfield, Massachusetts, there is an effort under way to create two new historic districts with the intent of saving two churches which are scheduled for closure by the diocese. Another church in the region, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was demolished. Apparently being within a Historic District will provide more protection.
