What’shappeningalongMD Rt. 27 in carroll County, MD?  Baltimore Gas and Electric Company is installing new natural gas main between Mt. Airy and Westminster. The gas main will run 11 miles adjacent to Ridge Road (MD 27). Construction will continue through fall 2014 and be completed in sections. Most of the work will be completed at night to reduce the impact on traffic.   The 12-inch diameter pipe will reinforce the existing natural gas systems and introduce new sources of supply to serve the more than 15,000 BGE customers in Carroll County, MD and 38,000 BGE customers in neighboring areas.   BGE will be sharing periodic updates via the gas pipeline project update page of their website.
