I had my first open house this weekend. Fannie Mae is putting a ban on foreclosures and stopping people from walking away, if they actually have the ability to make their mortgage payments.  Unfortunately too many people have taken advantage of a situation in which legitimately thousands are struggling and losing their homes.  Fannie Mae is setting up a policy where it isn't going to be easy walking from an upside down mortgage. How is this going to affect those who really have to walk away and can't afford to make payments on their upside down mortgages? How is this going to affect the loan modification process? Okay this is not necessarily a professional point of view as much as it is just my experience and opinion.  I have owned two homes in my life time and I have rented from private parties two times.  When I looked for a home, the first time with my now ex-husband, he and I both had specific needs that had to be met.  We had a newborn baby and anticipated having more than one child.
