Monday blues? Flowers will brighten your day, every day. I enjoy walks through the communities of Kentlands and Lakelands in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The spring flowers will be coming soon. As flexible as a tree? This tree in the Kentlands community of Gaithersburg, Maryland was pulled over by the heavy weight of snow. It is interesting to see how far it can bend without breaking. Many other trees did shatter with the weight. Perhaps nature is providing a lesson for us and reminding us that we can bear great weight if we will just be flexible enough. The Conservatory At Longwood Gardens - A Winter Retreat We visited the Conservatory at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, last Saturday. It was a cold winter day with snow on the ground in eastern Pennsylvania. The current show is Orchid Extravaganza and runs until March 27. Winter Scenes In Kentlands One of my regular activities is walks through the Kentlands and Lakelands communities in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is an important part of my exercise program. Longwood Gardens Orchid Extravaganza Our special day trip on the Saturday before Valentine's Day was a visit to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Orchid Extravaganza is the current exhibit that runs until March 27, 2011. The International Orchid Show and Sale is scheduled for March 25-27 and the Orchid Extravaganza Plant Sale will be held on April 2-3. This is a wonderful travel destination for those that enjoy the beauty of nature. This group of photographs are some that were taken by my wife, Dolores. Brookside Gardens Conservatory Spring Display One of the very good places to visit on a cold day in Maryland is the Conservatory at Brookside Gardens in the Wheaton Regional Park.
