Nominations Sought for City of Gaithersburg Environmental Awards Nominations are now being accepted for the City of Gaithersburg 2022 Environmental Awards, an annual program that recognizes individuals and groups for their commitment to the environment.This year the selection committee is particularly interested in seeing examples of environmental stewardship while overcoming challenges brought on by the pandemic. City residents, businesses, neighborhood associations, and organizations within Gaithersburg’s City limits are eligible. Nomination forms are available online. Gaithersburg Financial Aid Workshop for Recreation Programs Financial aid is available for City of Gaithersburg youth camps, classes and sports, and the City is hosting a workshop on Wednesday, January 26 to help residents sign up. The financial aid program, available to City residents only, provides up to $800 per child for summer camps and $250 per child for sports and classes.The workshop starts at 7 p.m. at the Youth Center in Olde Towne.
