Have you noticed the new Goodwill Store at the former location of Crofton Library, in Crofton Centre? A sign outside the store reads, “Come in and check us out. You won't believe what you can find! We're not your Grandmother's GOODWILL.” You'll still find donated items such as clothing, baby equipment, and home furnishing for sale, but the items are showcased with a flair that's new and fresh. J&D Contracting has done it again... proved they're THE most valuable members of my real estate team.  They saved the day for me and my seller yesterday by going above and beyond reasonable expectations. They arrived at my vacant listing in Annapolis MD to remove several items abandoned in the formerly tenant-occupied home scheduled for closing next week.  The job would require them to saw large items into pieces to remove them, since storage closets now block access to the stairs for large pieces of furniture.   The May real estate statistics are out for Crofton, MD, and comparing May of this year to May of last year presents some interesting comparisons.The units sold in May of 2011 exceeded that of May, 2010, however the Average and Median Sold Prices were down this year compared to last. Drilling down further in the stats, I see that this year there were no Crofton, MD homes sold over $500,000, and only 4 of the 31 sold were over $400,000. The increase in activity seems to be in the lower price ranges, which affects the sold prices.The most active price range was $200,000 to $299,999. The annual Kiwanis 10k on the Saturday before Father's Day is one of many Crofton traditions that make this community a special place to live.  The 23rd annual Kiwanis 10k Challenge will be held this Saturday, June 11, beginning at 8 a.m. at Crofton Country Club, circling Crofton Parkway and making a detour into the “E” section and the “S” sections.  My friends at Team Surlis of RE/MAX Leading Edge will co-sponsor the event, along with the Kiwanis Roundation, to raise money for local charities.  Chick-fil-A, Curves of Crofton, and Friends of Crofton Kiwanis will provide refreshments, which will include bagels, fruit and drinks.
