Who Are These People Running Down My Street? Basically speaking, we are a bunch of crazy people who should be locked up in an insane asylum. After all, who wakes up early in the morning to meet with 800 other people and start running through the streets of Columbia in Howard County, besides a bunch of maniacs. Not only that, but this was a planned event that has been taking place for over 30 years now with the number of running crazies increasing every year. There are running clubs all around the country, many of which are members of the Road Runners Club of America. This particular race in Columbia was hosted by the Howard County Striders, an enthusiastic group of runners from the Howard County area. Christmas 2011 is over and the relatives are still in town. What is there to do in Howard County to get out and about? There is no better family activity than the annual "Symphony of Lights" display in Columbia, Maryland. Over 70 huge animated and stationary light displays spread out over Symphony Woods. This event is open nightly from 6pm till 10pm (except December 31st)and will be open till January 2nd. The entrance fee is $20, but click here for a $5 off coupon.
