If you were not one of the 800 visitors this past Sunday, do not fret.  Our next Mushroom Fair will take place again October 2010. It was a great success.  We had lectures, cooking demonstrations and even a Foray in the local woods.  I bought a log innaculated with Shiitake Mushrooms.  Cannot wait to watch them grow and enjoy the delicious "meaty texture and woodsy flavors." Tonight, the Maryland Mycology Association is having a mushroom tasting event at the Connecticut Avenue Library in Chevy Chase from 7-9 PM.  Non members are welcome, as long as they become members.  Give it a try.

Chevy Chase Library to Close for Mini-Renovation The Chevy Chase Library located at 8005 Connecticut Ave., will close for a mini-renovation on August 17 and reopen on September 8 at 10 a.m. The renovation project includes installation of new service desks, relocation of shelves, plus painting, and recarpeting. Summer Reading program participants should complete the program no later than August 15 in order to receive their certificates and final prizes. During the closed period, books may be returned to any branch of Montgomery County Public Libraries or deposited in the book drop at the Chevy Chase Library. One of my favorite parts of Bethesda (actually technically Chevy Chase) is the townhouse community of Kenwood Forest located near the intersection of Bradley Blvd and Arlington Road. Currently there are two homes on the market at Kenwood Forest. 4886 Chevy Chase Drive is a 2 bedroom (previously 3 bedroom), 2 full bath and one half bath townhome with a table space kitchen, separate dining room, and living room. This house is an end unit and sits at the intersection of Hillandale and Chevy Chase Drive. There is no basement.  It has been freshly painted and has new beige carpet throughout.  The appliances appear to be in fair to good condition, but have not been replaced any time recently. I have been doing Market Leader for a little less than a month, and I am delighted to report that I am working with one very active buyer and am actively emailing a young doctor in Florida who will be moving to DC this summer. I am happy with the results so far, even though I don't seem to be meeting my total performance quotas according to the weekly status checks from Market Leader (worse than talking to my manager!).  I definately will give it another month at least, and I even recommended it to another agent.
