Fort Monmouth and Teleworking If your work was associated with Fort Monmouth in New Jersey, then you have been left with the difficult choice of relocating with your job to Maryland or staying in the familiar surroundings of New Jersey and finding another job. This is all related to the military base realignment and closure initiative (BRAC) which has forced the closing of Fort Monmouth and the relocation of its operations to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. But, there may be another option available to you.  That option is "Teleworking". With teleworking you could stay in New Jersey and do the majority of your work there in your home remote from the physical location from where the assignments originate at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. However, even with teleworking, the...

Harford County, Maryland: Public Transportation It was not long ago that Harford County Maryland was very much a rural county. Over the years, development took place, but mostly of a residential nature, whereby it had become a suburb of Baltimore City. But now, primarily due to the military base realignment and closure initiative (BRAC), the county is seeing a heavy influx of businesses and their associated jobs, all of which is causing an increase in population and congestion. The companies are locating along the Route 40 corridor or in reasonably close proximity to Aberdeen Proving Ground, which is the driving economic force. However, the new residents are moving into all parts of the county. The Harford County government just gave a press release to let the public know that it does h...

Maryland Improves Roads for BRAC Members of Maryland's congressional delegation announced Monday that they had secured $5.6 million to help pay for road projects related to expanded employment at Fort Meade and Aberdeen Proving Ground under the Pentagon's base realignment program. Reps. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes and Frank Kratovil, along with Sens. Barbara A. Mikulski and Benjamin L. Cardin, made the announcement near Route 175 and Rockenbach Road at Fort Meade - one of the intersections scheduled to be improved to accommodate increased traffic. The money was included in an appropriations bill passed by Congress last month.

Ready to make you shine!!! What does BRAC mean to you?  Base realignment and consolidation means an awful lot in Maryland.  Harford County has experienced many changes getting ready for the BRAC change.  Road ways, housing communities, jobs, etc.  There have been many, many office buildings poping up on the proving ground the entry to post is developing a new look while construction continues daily.  As for home sales they have not sky rocketed over the past 8 months due to the BRAC change, however it is encouraging. I have welcomed a few new faces and family's who will be a part of the movement to the Aberdeen area.  I can say it is a good feeling to meet such nice family's who will be relocating to the Aberdeen Proving Ground area.  As a Realtor I am looking forward to working with th...

If it hasn't it pretty close, why sit on the side lines and wait for the very bottom of the market, that you will never be able to time anyway.  What is the worse that happens you buy now the market drops a few more points then rebounds, and you miss a few thousand dollars in value?  What happens if the market has already hit and is on the way up?  You are already losing money! Prices don't seem to have fallen lately, so maybe they are on the way up?  If its on the way up or at the bottom, isn't that the best time to buy?  We have all heard the saying buy low sell high, well we all know we are low! For more information about housing in Harford County give me a call. If you need help selling or finding the right home for you call me, my local cell number is 443-640-5126 or email me at ks...
