Sturbridge Coffee House Moves into a New Home View From the Second Level at Sturbridge Coffee Congratulations to Pia Rogers and the folks at Sturbridge Coffee Houseand their recent move to 455 Main Street/Route 20, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.  The new location is larger, brighter, and has just the right character for this bustling local business. On a recent visit, I enjoyed a hot cup of French Vanilla coffee along with a gingerbread muffin top.  Absolutely delicious on a cold December morning.  The new location provides the coffee house with at least double the counter space from which to serve its wonderful coffees, pastries, and lunches.  There is plenty of seating, and the inviting atmosphere makes you want to linger a while. I am looking forward to seeing what Rogers and her staff d...

4 Possible Reasons that Agent Never Got Back to You One of the most common complaints I hear from buyers and sellers in this business is, "I contacted the agent, but s/he never got back to me."  Having talked with many agents, and observed my own behavior, I've come to realize that there are a few recurring circumstances that may be at the root of an agent not getting back to someone who calls or emails.  Let me share them with you: 1.  You sent only an email message requesting a showing on a specific property.  This seems fairly innocent.  But when we receive a short message like, "I'd like to see this property," with no means of contacting you other than your email address, we take this as a signal that you are possibly playing the real estate field.  We get so many emails like this, ...

I have been through some tough times in life as so many of us have. I have met  many great people along the way that helped see me through in more ways than one. Trick or Treat in Sturbridge, MA Halloween falls on Sunday, October 31, this year.  In the town of Sturbridge, we have set hours for trick-or-treat, which is then followed by our annual Horribles Parade on the Town Common. The 2010 Trick-or-Treat hours for Sturbridge are from 5 to 7 pm.  In my neighborhood, we usually start to see kids come around by 5:15 pm, and then things wind down by 6:30 pm so everyone can go to the Horribles Parade.  But we leave our lights on until 7 pm for the odd straggler or older kid who is not yet ready to give up trick-or-treating. At the Horribles Parade, costumed children have the chance to win prizes for best costume.   The kids gather behind the Town Hall and then parade around the Common.  Prizes are awarded, and there is hot chocolate and other goodie...

Wow! Under Contract in 11 Days in Sturbridge, MA There is a property in Sturbridge, MA, that was on the market for just 11 days before being marked as Under Agreement in the MLS. In a market that has been described as slow, having a property under contract in just 11 days is quite a feat. I am excited to see this type of activity in Sturbridge.  How did the sellers and their agent do it? While this is not my listing, I can draw some conclusions just by looking at the home's features and marketing.  First, location.  This home is in one of the town's most popular neighborhoods, The Preserve, and sited on a lot at the end of a cul-de-sac.  Second, price.  Other homes in this neighborhood that sold in the summer were originally priced from $10,000 to $50,000 higher than this property.  The...

WOW! Thank You RE/MAX Professional Associates!   I just got home from a wonderful celebration held in our honor this evening by RE/MAX Professional Associates.  Lorraine Hebert and Pam Crawford quickly put together a meet & greet with about 30-40 local agents, mortgage professionals and attorneys all welcoming us to the RE/MAX family.    What a great time we had!  We got to see so many familiar faces and meet some new ones.  Everyone got a kick out of our 4 kids that we had to bring since we couldn't find a sitter with just a few days to look.    Everyone has been so nice to us and offering all of the help they can give to get us settled in.  I really appreciate it.    Thank You RE/MAX Professional Associates and thanks to everyone that came tonight!
