It's the 100th Anniversary of the Sharon Public Library Building 1914-2014   The Sharon Public Library Building has reached its 100th anniversary! Members of the Friends of the Library, are planning a number of opportunities to learn about our library's history, as well as to showcase authors, books, movies, music and much more from 1914!  If you've been to the Sharon Public Library recently, you probably noticed the beautiful display board as you walked in. This is the first in a series of display boards sharing information about how the Town of Sharon built the library building and how we became a Carnegie Library. I've always liked peering into the past to see what life was like. Helping to prepare the displays gave several of us the opportunity to read the notes from the original Sh...

Congratulations to The Sharon Recreation Department, directed by Amanda Levasseur, for organizing a wonderful parade and celebration! There was a huge crowd of children and parents who gathered at the Sharon Town Hall at 3:30 p.m. A big "thank you" to the Sharon Police Department who escorted parade participants up South Main Street to the center of town, around to Pond Street then to East Chestnut Street and back to the Town Hall. There were lots of kids walking, some in strollers or little wagons and some on tractor-pulled hay wagons! The Town Hall parking lot was fi...
