    Medway Schools - High School receives High Marks - The Boston Globe reported that our area dominates the state when it comes to SAT scores. MetroWest is a hotbed for high marks, the best SAT scores. Lexington High School (combined SAT score of 1882) ranked 2nd in the state, just behind Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science, a school affiliated with Worcester Polytechical Institute that requires an application, recommnendations and entrance exam.         Nationally, Massachusetts ranked 1st in Math, 2nd behind New Hampshire in Reading, and 2nd to Connecticut in Writing when at least 60% of the students took the test. In Massachusetts, 72% of public high school students in this year's graduating class took the test, 3rd highest rate in the country, only behind Maine and New York.... 02/26/2010

Even though it is winter, there are still lots of building projects happening all around Medway. The one that I have enjoyed watching the most is the rehabilitation of the property next to St. Joseph's Church on Village Street.  The building was originally standing exposed to the elements without much siding and was not much to look at.  Sometime starting last fall the building has slowly been transformed.  New windows and trim were put on.  Currently the siding is being put on.  Being a house historian and antique home specialist, I particularly enjoyed seeing the exposed original boards on the side of the house.  It was very interesting to see how wide they are and what condition they are in after all these years.  The siding is almost nearly finished.  What a transformation - the bui... 02/25/2010

  Today, there are presently 40 single family homes on the market in Medway, with 6 of these flagged (offers accepted but taking back-ups just in case...). So, we are probably looking at 34 houses in town presently on the market, currently FOR SALE. Back on November 23, there were 50 single family houses in MLS on the market. The number of sold houses pretty much cancel out the number of new listings since then. The major drop, from November 23 to today, as expected, is due to listings either expiring, being canceled or simply being temporarily withdrawn. If you, as a seller, presently have a property that has been tough to sell, priced to "keep", this just might be the best opportunity to move it at its current price.
