Take a Creole Cottage in the Faubourg Marigny area of New Orleans that is blighted strip the house down to the studs, wrap the house with batting cage plastic and then fill the house with balls…loads of balls, four feet deep. That is what one gentlemen who lives in the Marigny is doing.  He found the owners of the blighted property, drove to visit them, discussed his idea and they agreed to let him move forward with his idea. Individuals will sign a waiver and dive in.  The Cottage was about to fall down and the ball pit may bring more people to the block and  a blighted property has been removed the street. The Marigny has an air all of its own.   It has a few small hotels and many bed-and-breakfasts, as well as a number of good restaurants, coffee shops, and music venues.  Perhaps one of the most famous and action packed areas of the Marigny is Frenchmen's St, loaded with small bars and local restaurants its a local's favorite.  The Marigny is to the northeast of the French Quarter. Due to its odd shape (following a bend in the Mississippi River), locals often divide the Marigny into the "Marigny triangle" and the "Marigny rectangle." Faubourg Marigny Shotgun Double, with touches of Victorian Trim.        The Faubourg Marigny begins as you leave the French Quarter as you cross Esplanade Ave.  You have many historic homes dating back to the early 18 th century.  This double shotgun home with four bays is in great shape.   Its easy to see it has been restored.  A Hundred is a long time so things get added and subtracted from these old homes.  Tastes and styles would change over the years and from owner to owner.
