Artificially Inflated Houses For Sale Prices in Lawrence Kansas Since 2000, many investors bought and flipped properties as well as regular home buyers who bought and traded up. 952 Closed Sales Over 777 Closed Sales This Time Last Year in Lawrence!!  What great joy is brought from these stats from the Lawrence Board of REALTORS (LBOR) here in Lawrence Kansas! This represents a 22% increase in units and an 18% increase in volume. The median DOM (Days on Market) remains 60 days. The percentage of list price has been 96% for both years year to date figures. Last year there was a spurt of activity in November and December where normally I have 1 transaction.  Last year I had 6 transactions and hoping for the same this year. Distribution of Thanksgiving food boxes Tuesday, November 20 9 to Noon The Salvation Army gymnasium is located at 946 New Hampshire and is where the food boxes will be distributed. The Salvation Army Church serves in dedication and because of the love of Christ.  They preach the gospel through this service from Matthew 25:35 "For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat" (NASB). Many people around the country recognize the Salvation Army as being the service organization with that "fire truck red" kettle out in front of stores near Thanksgiving and running to Christmas.    Recently, I received a call from a friend who needs to help her dad evict tenants from his property. I Heard a Heavy Thud in the Night on My House in Lawrence Kansas!  The culprit?  A hedgeapple (photo below--baseball card there for size reference) fell out of a nearby hedge tree (also known as Osage Orange tree) and landed on our roof!  Hedgeapples are quite often misnamed as hedge balls, green brains, monkey brains, monkey balls, and horse apples.   The squirrels around here pick them up and carry them off (they are bigger than most of the squirrels).  Then, the squirrels proceed to "chip away" down to the core where they eat the seeds that are near it.  They leave a mound of hedgeapple debris in the process. There are lots of stories about hedgeapples in that they dry up the milk of milk cows that ate them, that they have lodged in the throats of horses that ate them and suffocated ... 11/14/2012

Thank You Applebees, Chili's, Hy-Vee, Famous Dave's From Veterans! Sunday or Monday, Applebees, Chili's, Hy-Vee, Famous Dave's, and others are offering a free meal to Veterans for Veterans' Day.  Thank you!
