Junction City VA LoanMany of us can't fully understand the great sacrifices that our veterans and active duty armed forces men and women deal with to serve our country.  They give up so much to ensure that we can live peacefully at home.  However, a lot of them never get the chance to have their very own home since they really are moving around so much or they just don't understand what great benefits are available to them as a result of their assistance to our country. The VA offers the  home loan program as one of the biggest advantages that our service can receive. Start The VA Loan Application Process Now! Everyone one day dreams of owning a space they can call home, but possibly mortgage rates prevent them from looking for it or possibly fear of not having a down payment, or the ad...

The Redbuds Came Early This Year in Kansas The Kansas landscape came alive early this Spring with many days of above normal temperatures in late March and early April.  It is nearly mid April now, and the Redbud flowers that are typically blooming at this time have already appeared and vanished!  Gone are also the Flowering Pear Tree blossoms that come to life when the warm air settles in.  Look around and you will still see some tulips, but probably not for much longer! I went for a walk in Junction City, Kansas on April 1, 2012 while the Redbuds were still in bloom and captured this image before the blooms wilted and blew away in the Kansas wind.  How is Spring where you are at?

The Filth You Can Find in a Walmart Parking Lot Unfortunately, litter is a common eye-sore wherever people go. Some people discard their trash along the highways, residential streets, and public areas of communities instead of taking it to the nearest trash can or dumpster. Why is this? Trash in public spaces is so commonplace, I think it generally goes unnoticed. It is not unusual to see a squashed aluminum can or abandoned fast food drinking cup in a busy parking lot. But what I saw today in the parking lot of my local Walmart is just disgusting. While walking from my car to the entrance of Walmart, I passed an empty parking space with a rolled up diaper that had obviously been run over...as its contents (need I say) were partially squeezed out on the asphalt. Let's face it. Dirty dia...

A Peaceful Walk in the Kansas Snow In some parts of the United States, snow is common and abundant during the Winter months.  Winter in Kansas is cold, but measurable snow is not as prevalent and long-lasting as it is in other areas of the country.  When the conditions are just right, the Sunflower State (or parts of it) get a nice blanket of snow! Northeast Kansas had its first measurable snowfall of 2011 on January 9 and another round of snow fell throughout much of the day yesterday.  When I woke up this morning, there were about two more inches of snow on top of the snow that had not already melted from the first significant snowfall. With nature and scenic photography as one of my passions, I had to go out and capture some images of the Kansas Winter landscape!  These photos I shot...
