Here is a brief breakdown: Yesterday, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) released a 1099-page Proposed Rule on combining required disclosures under TILA and RESPA and a Proposed HOEPA Rule, both of which were mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act. Public comments for most provisions in the proposed RESPA-TILA rule are due November 6, 2012, with certain exceptions (see below). Comments on the proposed HOEPA rule are due on September 7, 2012. The CFPB is proposing to impose a "zero tolerance" on (1) charges for services provided by an affiliate of the lender or broker; and (2) charges for services for which the lender or broker does not permit the consumer to shop. The first twelve days has passed and the experience is great. It is different, this time I find myself paying attention to the little things.  This weekend my Daughter (Tara) and her boyfriend Daniel my niece (Brittany) and her fiance' Jamahl came to visit. Dad was in his element. He stayed up past midnight making sure everyone had what they needed and were comfortable. Typical Dad. The next six weeks.....well it started on June 26 and will end in early August. What on earth could I be talking about???? Spending the next six weeks with my Dad.   My dad will be 79 in August. In May, when I was visiting him, he watched me work from his kitchen table as I always do while I am there. You have to understand....there is nothing in Mart and we wait to go to the farm until late in the afternoon (too hot before then). He asked me if I work anywhere and I said yes. As long as I have internet connection and a place large enough to set up my laptop, scanner, and printer I am at work. The following is a quick overview of an important issue to consider when selling your home. Please contact me for further detail. For those of you considering selling your home in either Huntingburg or Jasper, Indiana, I wanted to say a bit about lateral sewer inspections. Lateral inspections are now, and have been for almost two years , mandatory when selling a home. The city must run a camera from your home, through your sewer pipe, to the main sewer line to look for damage or other problems with the system. If your system has a problem, you must correct it or the new owner will not be able to get public utilities. This repair can involve major work and major expense. Jasper, Indiana is home to a wonderful restaurant the locals and visitors always enjoy.  High quality German and American cuisine is served.  I recommend potato pancakes with apple butter, the salad bar and kassler ripchen (pork chops).I recently had lunch at the Schnitzelbank with an old friend and two clients who have become friends.
