Right now we are 3rd in rank according to the Indianapolis Star.  Detroit and Alanta leading the nation at this time.  Last year lenders took back 27,500 homes in the Metro-Indianapolis area and that was up 36% from the year before.  It is believed that lower wages, adjustable mortgages, bankruptcies and taxes are the contributing factors to the increase.  It is said that some of the reasons for this is aggressive lenders and builders that saddle buyers with high monthly payments and do not explain the taxes and adjustable arm differences.

In the last few days our area has received a heavy amount of rain.  Fall Creek twists and turns throughout our area and others.  These are pictures from today on my way home from the office.  The news reports say that this could get worse and possibly freeze in the next few days.    Normally I would see horses out in this field.  (Sargent Rd & Lantern)

I just had to share something that happened  today.  It makes all the hard work we do and the hard closings all worth it when an easy one comes around. My website is generating between 2-3 leads per day.  In fact, my web traffic has increased 233% over the past 4 months.  A lot in part to my SEO work I have been doing on it.  About a week ago, an individual found my website, MyIndianapolisHome.com, and gave my business partner a call.  After talking with him, we found out she had an investment property(3 bedroom home) on the market for over 6 months middle of last year, it never sold. We also found out the couple used one of the FSBO type discount brokers that just list your home on the MLS and that's about all they do.   They had it listed for 110k at that time.My business partner met w...

So often these days we hear about how commercialized Christmas has become or how people don't appreciate the true meaning of Christmas.  Fortunately for those of us at Carpenter Realtors in Castleton, we were able to help make 45 kids at the LaRue Carter Hospital have a Merry Christmas. I can't begin to tell you how the smiles of the children, their gratefulness and the gratefulness of the staff touched all of our hearts.  To see their eyes light up as they emptied the contents of each stocking, opening the BIG gifts (Playstation 2 and games along with a Karaoke Machine) for the center to share and eating Christmas goodies was worth all the work that went into raising the money, doing the shopping and wrapping all the gifts!  (I wish I could share pictures with you but that is not somet...

Well I was very surprised to receive the message that Chris Tesch had memed me. 1.  I was born and raised on the East side of Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Denby High School.  To the right is a picture of the neighborhood I grew up in now!  A very sad sight and most of the homes that were on my street, including mine are gone.  (This house was two doors away from where mine once sat.)2.  When I was in my teens, I worked for a music company called Grinnell Brothers.  It was probably my most favorite job (until I started Real Estate) because I love music so much!  (I know how to play the violin, guitar and piano.)3.  When I was in Jr. High my idol was Rod Stewart.  At the time, I thought it would be really cool to have a Rod Stewart hair cut and so I got one.  Needless to say, I re...

Christmas is always a great time to drive through the neighborhoods and see what interesting or unique Christmas lights and decorations are on the homes.  On my street, a few of the neighbors have spent a lot of time decorating the fronts of their homes.  Just take a drive down Geist Estates Drive off 75th street during the Holiday Season and you'll see what I mean.      Here's the house next door.  I really need a wide angle lens to give the full affect of the homes together.  If you live in this area and would like to see your home featured in a blog.  Please visit my site:  http://cyndisloop4indyhomes.com/ and drop me an email.  I would love to drive over and take a picture and feature your home too!

Many of you may know or have seen the Wheeler Mission in Downtown Indianapolis.  This mission originated in 1893 and has been addressing Indianapolis' poor and needy ever since.  It is a place where the homeless may come to get a warm meal or find shelter for the night.  It also has a food pantry and distributes more than 30 tons of food each year.  While these things are important, their mission also includes helping people change their lives. One way we as a community can help is to participate in some small way with the 4th Annual Drumstick Dash which will be held November 23, 2006 at 9a.m. on Connell Street in Broad Ripple.  This is located west of the High School.  Last years event had close to 2400 walkers/runners for the 4.5 mile course.  Besides the walk/run you can also come dre...
