History of a Painting - Wellfield Gardens, Elkhart, INFrom the English Cottage Garden Acrylic painting by Larry Johnston©Wellfield Gardens is such a great place to visit and every year we see that they have added more trails and opened up more areas to see.  After my first visit to Wellfield, I made it a point to include it among my paintings of Elkhart.  The English Cottage is the backdrop for many Wedding photos.The painting was done in 2014, which I still have.  I painted it as a moonlit night after a rain, since I am now doing evening scenes and reflections in the rain.  I have since expanded my Elkhart related paintings. Kick-A-Can, Home Improvement Paint Program, Underway in Elkhart, IN.   The Kick-A-Can Home Improvement Paint Program was started as a recycling project to buy paint for those who could not afford to paint their homes and garages.  Mayor Neese encourages neighborhoods to look nice and a fresh coat of paint will definately help the cause.Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese, started the program while on the city council in Elkhart in 1988.  He continued the program during his 12 years in the Indiana Legislature.   The newly elected Mayor today, May 12, 2016 has continued the tradition for the 28th consecutive year.With help from Sherwin Williams Paint and Rollie Paint Spot in Elkhart, the program has been a huge success.  The only requirement is: The recipient must live in Elkhart and is unable to aff... 05/12/2016
