The Creature from the green lagoon. What a great movie title. I'm now thinking it would only be great in Hollywood, not on my home inspection. I was recently inspecting a home in Kankakee, Illinois and while inspecting the roof, I saw something floating in the pool that I have not been able to identify. I actually do Mold and air quality testing, but something told me that this was more than just a simple aspergillus/penecilium.  Turns out, this pool had been abandoned for over two years, the tenants had moved out, and the local health department had already issued a warning to the owners.  Now I see plenty of creepy things in my real estate home inspections in the Kankakee, Bourbonnais area, but this made me jump back about 5 feet and use the zoom on my camera.  ******WARNING- THE PICT... 08/14/2011

 The pictures below are in the Historic Riverview Area of Kankakee County.   Hundred year old trees were picked up and dropped like they were matchsticks.    The storms hit Monday night and left thousands without power.  A second wave of storms hit on Tuesday - with a tornado touching down by St. Anne at 6:00 a.m.  Area residents were still without power as of last night with many businesses, including the courthouse still without power.   08/07/2008
