At time of writing there were almost 100 homes to choose from with rent as low as $1000 to as high as $8000 a month for executive rentals. Lease Terms. Most home owners are looking for year leases but there are some short term rentals available in Barrington, mostly likely a minimum of 6 months. What is a half bathroom? What can you do in a half bathroom, have half a bath, half a shower, or wash half of your hands? As a British citizen I always thought this was a funny name for a room that has nothing to do with a bath. In England we call them powder rooms. Do we powder ourselves in them? No of course not, so why can't we come up with a better name? What do we do in half a bathroom? Simply we use the toilet and then wash our hands. Any suggestions on a better name? FYI - The toilet is commonly referred to in the UK as "The Loo". This is My Half of The Bath!  That's OK, I Am Just Washing My Hands in My Half. Attached homes marketing time is low in January 2009 due to the lack of units sold. Both detached and attached seem to be following a similar path and we had a noticeable dip in August. I visited Makray Golf Course for lunch with a great friend today.  The golf course is beautiful, they have done a great job with the reconstruction of the course and clubhouse.  The ambiance could not be better.  How lucky are the home owners around the golf course?  We ate at the Oak Terrace Grille, they have a great menu, I have not ever had a dissapointing meal there.  Their banquet facilities are top notch and so elegant, with top service and food.  There is a lovely terrace with breathtaking views (see below) overlooking the golf course.  I have attended 3 golf outings there so far and look forward to the next.  What a great part of our Barrington community. I though viewers might be interested to see what the median price of a home in Barrington would buy you in the English countryside in a town called Newbury. This is the home my brother bought this summer. It's all brick with clay tiles roof-typical in UK- on a .3 acre lot. Getting lots of this size in the UK is hard, they just a very rare. Gravel drive with detached garage for 2 cars. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, basement? No we don't have them in the UK. So the median price in Barrington right now is around $650,000. This cost about 650,000 British Pounds which equates to just over $1 million. So not really the same. So if moving to the UK you'll need more money to buy the same size of home. In Barrington Illinois this week we have seen a lot of rain. You may not be happy that our temperatures have dropped but if you are selling your home, now is a perfect time to get your Barrington Realtor to update the outside photo of your home for the MLS. This most recent change will not cause you a huge delay but you'll need to know why the buyers are not offering a 30 day close, like we all got so used to.A Truth In Lending disclosures are given to buyers to tell them the cost of borrowing the money. An initial T-I-L disclosure must be given at least 7 business days prior to the closing. There-after the applicant can expect the final T-I-L disclosure sometime before they close the loan. Plat of Survey. If you are in the market to sell your Barrington IL Home one of the last things that will be done before you close is a Plat of Survey. Typically these are ordered by your attorney in the last week leading up to your closing. So what is it for? Well aside from providing a printed document based on a survey of the property, which is then given to your buyers, your attorney wants to be sure there are no encroachments on the property. So when did it crash? The following chart shows the Barrington Median Home index for now compared with 2 years ago. As you can see we are coasting along with perhaps a slight increase in activity now as indicated by the black and green lines.
