The Maalaea area of Maui is a hidden gem, centrally located, right on the ocean,  close to shops, restaurants, the Maui Ocean Center, and Maalaea Harbor.  Surrounding cities are close by, it's just a 10 minute drive to Kihei, 10 minutes to Kahului, 10 minutes to Wailuku, and 20 minutes to Lahaina.  Until now, emergency medical services had to originate in one of those other locations, not bad but in an emergency those 10 minutes could be the difference between life and death.  Now Maalaea has it's own paramedics available 24/7 and located on the 3rd floor of the Maalaea Kai condominium (unit # is unknown as of this posting).  This is a great service for those of us living in Maalaea since it cuts 10 minutes off the emergency response time.   The paramedics urge calling 911 in an emergen...
