Wordless Wednesday: Dragonfly Sculpture  I've always admired those who create sand sculptures, some of which can be pretty amazing. We recently stayed a couple of days in Wailea, Maui and the resort had a big sandbox which featured a new sand sculpture each week. The first morning we were there we went for a walk along the beach and found that week's feature - a huge dragonfly. Pretty impressive, don't you think? 08/07/2019

Maui Sunset  First nights on vacation are often pretty exciting, with the anticipation of what lies ahead, and the beginnings of relaxation. Last nights, especially when highlighted by a gorgeous sunset, are pretty special, and perhaps bittersweet. This was taken at a wonderful restaurant and bar area at the Anza Hotel in Maui, built on multiple levels facing the beach. Luxury pool homes on the south shore of MauiCurrently there are 145 residential listings for sale in Kihei, Maui Meadows, and Wailea/Makena Maui, which is the coastal south side of the island.  59 of these homes come with a swimming pool, and most of them are in Wailea which is a private development.So what's it going to cost for a South Maui home with a pool these days? 18 Kihei homes with pools priced from $695,000 to $28,000,000 (on Keawakapu Beach). 4 listings are priced under $1,000,000 and they are all pending.  The median price is just under $2,000,000. 6 Maui Meadows homes with pools priced from $895,000 to $2,395,000. 3 listings are priced under $1,000,000 and 2 of those are pending.  Median price is about $1,250,000.  Maui Meadows lots are around a third acre and you can build... 08/06/2017

There's a new event that just rolled out at The Shops at Wailea, in Wailea Maui.  You probably already know about WOW - Wailea on Wednesdays - which happens every Wednesday evening at The Shops.  Well now there's a farmers market on the second and fourth Wednesdays, from 4-6 pm and it's called Market at The Shops.They'll be featuring products from local farmers and specialty food producers such as: Kumu Farms; Maui Olive Company; Cupcake Ladies Catering Co.; Shaka Pops Maui; HI Spice; Blue Door Bread Company; and Grown on Maui.  It's all happening on the ground floor of the shopping center.Along with the WOW theme, there will be live entertainment from local musicians.  Some of the stores will be offering specials and discounts during the market hours, so be sure to drop by and see what... 07/12/2017
