Orange aloe flowers brighten the December sky in Kula Maui I love the contrast of these bright orange aloe flowers against the blue sky. This was taken at my Kula listing at 980 Kamehameiki Road. Easy living on Easy Street in Kula Maui Hawaii - lovely ocean views Today's Realtor Caravan for Upcountry Maui took us to 13 homes... way too many to see in just a few hours.  There were homes in Makawao, Pukalani and Kula, and prices were from $350,000 to $2,195,000. Many of them had beautiful ocean views, but I think this was my favorite view of all.  The shady tree framing the view really added to the peaceful easy feeling. Can you believe there's actually a street called Easy Street on Maui?  It's not a long street, and it's not easy to find, but there are some beautiful homes there. Lava rock walls on Kamehameiki Road, Kula Maui HI 96790 When you drive up or down Kamehameiki Road in Kula Maui you'll see these beautiful old rock walls along the roadside.  Volcanic lava rock is plentiful in these parts and the early inhabitants had to clear the land of loose rocks to make way for fruit trees and pastures, so they piled them up into walls around the perimeter.  There's no mortar holding them together, but the rough nature of the surfaces helps them to grip into place.  A lot of lava rocks are porous and relatively lighter than other rocks, making it somewhat easier to build than say, granite or blue rock.  Nasturtiums like to grow wild and ramble over top, adding a splash of vibrant color.
