In December of 2019, Joy and I were married on the Maui Shores. Lucky for us, the pandemic happened a month later as travel shut down (we still haven't had a honeymoon or a reception at home). Now, 5 years later, we traveled back to Maui for our anniversary and spent time on the beach were were married, explored different island adventures outside the norm, and had a great week.One of the trip's highlights was renting a boat. As avid Washington State boater, it was an easy rental as I have a State boaters card as well as 40 years of experience of boating, crabbing, water sports, diving, and still own 2 boats.The rental was less than a minute from the room and we were on the water by 7:30am watching whale pods, a mother and her calf, and individuals within the hour. One of the great things about living on Maui is that when you leave the island for a vacation, you get to come back home...to Maui!  I recently returned home to the island after spending the Thanksgiving holiday in California with my family.  I must first say that it was a very nice visit and I thoroughly enjoyed spending the holiday with loved ones, but boy, was it great to return back to where it was warm!  It's not like we went snow skiing up in Tahoe.  We just stayed in the bay area where the day temperature is a balmy 60 degrees with a late evening/early morning temp of the mid-30's.  That's COLD!!!  There is something about waking up in the morning comfortably barefoot and feeling the warm tropical breezes through an open window, year round, that has me extremely spoiled.I was eve...
