This is the week of fires. After the 155 acre fire this past weekend by Maui Meadows, and a 4 acre burn off of Kulanihakoi Street in North Kihei, we now have another fire near Maui Meadows. Looking a head at traveling to Maui Hawaii   This summer has been the slowest as far as tourist coming to Maui.  With Aloha Airlines calling it quits and ATA Airlines folding it left a Hugh void.  Driving through the airport on the way to windsurf this summer I notice that it's been the slowest since any time I can remember.  One thing I do detect is a little change in the air.  The dollar is gaining strength against the Euro and the Pound.  That also helps bring down the cost of oil.  So that should directly affect the price of jet fuel.  Everything is connected, so with cheaper jet fuel airline tickets are coming down to a reasonable price. Last Wednesday night promptly at 6:30pm my husband Doug and I went to our first Ballroom Dancing Lesson at the Kihei Community Center.  Lessons by Rita O'Connor were open to all ages single or married and we had a blast! This is not your parents dance class.  Starting with the basics Rita and Brian demonstrated and patiently guided our two circles around with only a few toes stepped on. It was fun to be in my husbands arms and glide around the room (well perhaps not gliding yet).  I tend to want to lead and Rita says this is a big NO. Singles are welcomed and you will switch off partners frequently. (sometimes I'd wished I could switch off from Doug, only for dancing though) :)  We saw old friends and made a few new ones too. Tire Kickers, Have you notice that there are a lot of tire kickers in this market.  Buyers are looking at this market and saying I really like this house or condo. I have been looking for a place like this with a great view and the perfect lay out. I also can't believe that the seller's are willing to come down to that price. I am sitting in Wailea working in one of the best places in the world. I really love Maui and the life that it offers to locals and visitorss a like.  I meet  people that come through our Wailea office and you can tell they are really pleased and enjoying there stay on Maui. When ever people on line are emailing me they have been to Maui or are palnning to come some time in the future.
