Aloha, Lance here with LUVA Real Estate, sorry my Market Report is so late this month, but we are busy! I finally forced myself to sit down and take a look at how busy Kona real estate really is.  September 2013 home sales, better than 2012 (almost double) better than 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, I had to go all the way back to 2005 to find a better September than the one we just had.  According to the Hawaii MLS, we were up 75% over last year, and remember when your looking at my numbers, they are all black and white, no adjustments, no manipulating, just the facts, the way they were written.  Condo sales - up 27% and I would  bet it would have been much higher if the inventory was there Land sales - showed a <28%> drop in sales, but Year To Date is still up 74%, largly due to i... 10/18/2013

West Hawaii Real Estate Update. “North Kona home sales continue to rock!” stated Lance Owens, a Realtor with LUVA Real Estate. North Kona posted a 58.62% increase year over year for number of sales, with 46 homes sold last month versus 29 in August 2012. Owens says “It’s the best August since 2006, and 2006 only beat it out by 1 home sale.” “I was looking at the amount of money that exchanged hands during the month of August, and found it was UP 105% over last August (16 million vs. almost 34 million). Kona Market Sees 84% Increase in Number of Homes Sold   Kona posted another stellar month for home sales in June, with an 84% increase in homes sold from June 2012 to June 2013.  In June 2012, only 33 homes were sold, where as in 2013, 61 homes left the market. This is a significant increase in sales activity and one of the top markets that Kona has seen in the past 13 years.
