My Favorite Honolulu Neighborhoods: West Marina, in the Hawaii Kai Region West Marina is a relatively large area of Hawaii Kai bordered by Lunalilo Home Road, Hawaii Kai Drive and Kawaihae Street. Homes here were built in the mid 1960′s and is an eclectic mix of architectural styles and varying sizes of homes. Most homes here were built around the Hawaii Kai Marina with seven fingers of land creating marina front lots with boat docks and easy access to Maunalua Bay and the ocean. Homes can range in size from 1,200 to 3,00 square feet. In 2002-2003, a developer named Stanford Carr built and completed the Hawaii Kai Peninsula project adding new, high-quality condominiums to this area.
