Paiko Lagoon (Honolulu, HI)

My Favorite Ocean Front Communities on East Oahu: Paiko Lagoon Paiko Lagoon was originally a coastal fishpond, fed by a fresh water spring and the Kuliouou stream. The lagoon water level varies with the tides and will occasionallydisplay saltwater mud flats. You will find roughly 20 ocean front homes here and another 11 on the lagoon.Paiko Beach is a narrow strip of sand that almost disappears at high tide. There is a shallow coral reef in front, so swimming is only fair here. It’s a better spot to kayak or fish. Also, some surfers paddle out from Paiko Beach to reach the waves of Paikos and other surf spots that are located at the outer edge of the reef.
