Hi everyone. It has been a minute since I was able to blog. With the passing of my wife's father, I have been the daddy and the mommy for 2 weeks.  Suffice to say, it has been busy.  Many things have gone on in the last couple of weeks. 1.  Run the Reagan was a great success. Last Saturday (2/19/11), they closed Ronald Reagan Parkway.  Participants could run a 5K or run the entire highway.  They had local sponsors and set up an area for kids to play.  My kids had a blast- no, I didn't run but enjoyed the festivities for the kids. 2.  Emory Eastside expansion is moving along quickly.  With each passing day, it seems like they have completed more.  You can see the hospital in the back ground in the above picture. 3. Market Statistics for Snellville, GASales in the Snellville, GA area have declined from January 2010 to January 2011. In January 2010 there were 49 closed sales where in January 2011 there were 39. That is a decrease of 20.4%. The closed dollar volume also decreased from $5,959.169 to $3,984,273 for a 33% decrease in sales volume. Average sales price has also decreased from $121,616 in January 2010 to $102,417 in January 2011. This is a decrease of 15.8%. Although there are decreases in all levels of the market for Snellville, we are still optimistic this will turn around. 02/08/2011

Emory Eastside Hospital's planned expansion is ahead of schedule.  On October 18, the foundation was poured for the emergency room expansion. Phase 1 should be opened in April of 2011. The third medical office building is also well under way.  The use of precast walls is moving the project along nicely. It should open in May of 2011. The Main Entrance has also been enhanced with a new visitors information center, human resources department and admissions. Snellville is home to this first class facility. Both of my kids were born there and the level of service is second to none.  The expansion is a welcome addition for our growing area.     01/21/2011

Online registration for Brookwood spring baseball and softball will start on Jan. 1st. Choose the Registration option from the menu at our website at BrookwoodBaseball.com. We will have leagues for t-ball, peewee, minor and major for both baseball and softball (ages 5-12), pony and colt for baseball (ages 13-19), and junior and senior for softball (ages 13-18). Yes, Atlanta has a White christmas.  It was after dark in North East Georgia before the snow started to fall.
