The possum is running for the 35th time on Saturday, June 1, 2013 to benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center! The Possum Trot 10K race is an amazing race on a smooth, certified course with scenic views of the Chattahoochee River, and the event features both a 10K race and a 1 mile fun run. The 1 mile Fun Run begins at 7:00 AM, with the 10K race following at 7:30 AM. Discounted registration rate of $28 if you register by May 31st. Each year, folks gather on the lawn of Roswell City Hall to honor those who have given their lives to protect our freedoms. Roswell Georgia is home to the largest Memorial Day celebration in the state of Georgia.  Displays are open to the public starting at 10 am. The military ceremony begins at 11 am, and by 12:45 picnic lunches appear and the music of Banks and Shane fill the air. In 1997, twelve patriotic individuals came together to create a truly unique Memorial Day event; a non-political, non-commercial ceremony honoring veterans and the sacrifices they made in protecting our freedom.
