Driving through Druid hills this morning I couldn't help but notice that the dogwoods are turning and the pumpkin sales at Emory's Methodist church have begun.  It put me in mind of my first Halloween as an Innkeeper in Savannah.  Wanting to surprise my guests with a holiday treat at evening turndown, I had the housekeepers put out little caramel apples instead on chocolate on the pillows.  That was when I found out that folks who could afford to stay at a luxury hotel could also afford luxury dental work and they were not thrilled with the possibility of leaving it behind in a caramel apple in Savannah.  Selling luxury homes in our beautiful Druid hills neighborhood is a lot easier than selling luxury rooms in Savannah.  And there are no caramel apples involved.   10/04/2007
