Atlanta Buckhead Midtown - Hurricane Helene Creates Havoc in GeorgiaTime for this owner to buy a Lottery ticket! First - thanks to the many ActiveRain members from all across the US who checked-in with me these past few days. Very gratefully, our home and our family in Atlanta are fine. Minor inconvenience of repeated electric outages yet no property damage at all. However, in my immediate neighborhood, many were not as fortunate. After three days of rain, Hurricane Helene arrived. Soil was soaked which makes for unstable conditions for tree roots. Pine tree roots are notoriously insufficient to support giant trees. The one pictured above just fell over.
