Seems that thanks to the media and all the doom and gloom news we keep hearing about when it comes to lending, everyone has the misconception that Banks are not lending and there is no point to even try to get a loan today. Sometimes we do things in our business that just make no financial sense what so ever! Ok let me clear that up, since I know many people reading that first line in bold will immediately get the wrong impression. About a year or so ago I met a client who at the time was 92 years old. Highpoint Community celebrates Fourth of July with Parade, Brooksville, Spring Hill, Florida Every year, the Highpoint Community in Brooksville/Spring Hill, Florida celebrates Independence Day with  a great Fourth of July parade. Resident and community groups both participate in this Fourth of July parade that winds its way from the Highpoint community entrance to the club house where a flag-raising ceremony complete with color guards marks the beginning of a social get-together in the clubhouse with fun, food and entertainment. The Highpoint Fourth of July parade begins at 9:00 AM and the celebration ends at 3:00 PM.  Free and open to the public. Good News: Senate passed Extension for Homebuyer Tax Credit If it wasn't for the last minutes, many things would not get done.  Last night, Congress passed HR 5623, the bill to extend the homebuyer tax credit.  Qualifying homebuyers who had a signed contract by April 30, 2010, will now have until September 30, 2010 to get these transactions closed in order to receive the tax credit.  Another bill that was passed last night, HR 5569, was the extension to the national flood insurance program.  The expiration of this program had been stalling closings for waterfront properties since the end of May when the program expired.   The extension is retroactive and good until September 30, 2010 as well. I just got done reading a post from an agent who had a client that used a Internet lender rather than someone local who she trusted. It went on to say how terrible the experience was and how horrible of a job they did with regard to pretty much the entire transaction.      I have to agree that many times these so called "Internet lenders" are nothing more than a call center with inexperience loan officers. Too often, we take over a file from one of these web based lenders only to find out they missed many things in the pre-qual stage that would have set off huge red flags to anyone with a knowledge of current guidelines.
