I recently showed a property on a beautiful street on Siesta Key. What many people do not realize having seen the photos of the vast expanses of white sand beaches, is that large areas of Siesta are actually very lush and treelined. This was one of those areas. It was beautiful Key West style home, with a wrap around porch overlooking the tropical pool, and beautiful wood floors throughout. We often don't see this type of home for this price point out on the Key - roughly $500K.    Although well within their price range, my buyers suspected the home was overpriced. After all, they reasoned, isnt everything these days? Actually, the home was priced UNDER market value. But sometimes in this market, it is hard to accept that you can't get another 30% off the price of the home...so they ask... 04/14/2010

When I moved to Sarasota nearly a decade ago, armed with my set budget and down payment, I had dreams of Siesta Key. After all, it was a stretch of white sand beach that convinced me to move here in the first place. At the time, when I asked the realtor if I could have a water view, they laughed and asked me if I meant a swimming pool! I live on Palmer Ranch, which was an excellent decision for me. The schools are fantastic, we love our home, and we are only 10 minutes from - you guessed it - the white sands of Siesta Key. That was a huge deciding factor for me. I go out to the beach nearly every night for my walk, and I couldn't imagine living in Sarasota without access to Siesta.
