In November of 2013 Rocky, my mixed lab-ridgeback rescue from the SPCA of Anne Arundel County in Annapolis Maryland, passed away unexpectedly. The void created by the loss of my 11 year old faithful companion did not remain empty for long. I went to a volunteer orientation event in late December at the Humane Society Sarasota County ("HSSC"); after which I became a volunteer dog walker at the shelter.
