Today I will detail The Parliament House which is located at 405 N. Ocean Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL.  Parliament House was built in 1971 and is located on the on A1A just North of Atlantic Blvd.  The building has 432 units on 19 floors. There is security guard at the front door 24 hours a day. The common areas feature a large lobby, an outdoor pool with a tiki hut, and a fitness room. There are three elevators, so there is usually just a short wait. The building has had some important updates recently. Each unit has impact resistant glass windows and doors. The exterior is has been painted with a new color scheme. Most of the units come with covered parking and some even have deeded garage space under the building. There were 21 condo sales in the Cypress Bend Community of Pompano Beach, FL during the 3rd quarter of 2011. The prices ranged from a low of $41,000 to a high of $113,000. The median price was $70,000. The average days on the market was 75 days.  14 of the sales were for cash and 3 were financed. Seven of the sales were foreclosure listings and four were short sales. There are 24 units currently active with prices ranging from $41,900 to $175,000. Two of those active listings are foreclosures and seven are short sales. The Breakers condominium is located at 710 N Ocean Blvd in Pompano Beach, FL.  N. Ocean Blvd is also known as A1A and the building is approximately half way between Atlantic Blvd and the 14th St Causeway.  The twelve story oceanfront building was built in 1966.  Recent renovations to the building include a new roof and painting of the entire exterior of the building. There were 26 condo sales east of the Intracoastal Waterway in Pompano Beach during the month of September 2011. Prices ranged from $46,000 to $1,050,00 with the median sales price at $240,000. 7 of the 26 sales were cash sales. 2 of the sales were forclosures and 2 were short sales. Currently there are 403 active condo listings in the Beach area. 8 of those listings are foreclosures and 29 are short sales. As of today there are 74 pending sales in the area. There were 20 condo sales in Palm Aire Country Club during the month of September 2011.  Prices ranged from $46,000 to $255,000. The median sales price was $77,000. 17 of the 20 sales were cash sales. 5 of the sales were foreclosures and 3 were short sales. Currently there are 155 active listings in Palm Aire which is the lowest inventory in a long, long time. 26 of those listings are new in September. 7 of the listings are foreclosures and 15 are short sales. The city is holding a contractors forum from 9 to 10:30 a.m. this Tuesday at Pompano City Hall in order to get comments on ways to improve its permit process. The forum follows one held last year and is open to residents, contractors, developers, business owners and builders. Along with the new 7 million dollar regional library underway near Pompano City Hall on Atlantic Boulevard, the city may be planning on building a 300 to 600 seat theater and cultural arts center. Vice Mayor George Brummer stated that a complex such as this could stimulate redevelopment in the area. Admiralty Towers, a Pompano Beach condo, continued to exclude families with young children long after federal and county law prohibited it agreed during Broward County's civil rights investigation to stop enforcing its bylaw about children. The condo is accused of rejecting a Canadian vacationer's purchase contract to buy a unit last fall because the man and his wife have three daughters under the age of 12, and Admiralty's bylaws excluded kids under 12. That bylaw can no longer be legally enforced because federal law from the late 1980s protects people from housing discrimination based on familial status.   Good news! There's enough faith in real estate for builders to resume construction. Vice Mayor and Palm-Aire resident, George Brummer, will be the namesake of the new city park that he championed. The next time that you're driving down the Florida Turnpike near Sample Road take a look at the landfill popularly known as Mount Trashmore. You will find that they have installed a H O L L Y W O O D sign on it! They are filming a new movie called "Rock of Ages" this summer starring Tom Cruise, about a hair-band era rock star. The film will also feature some other great talent like Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Paul Giamatti. The film is slated for a June 1st, 2012 release. It was a full house this morning when Mayor Lamar Fisher and Vice Mayor George Brummer along with tons of City of Pompano Beach staff to break ground on Palm-Aire's newest park. The park will consist of six tennis courts, two covered tot lots, two Boccee Ball courts, handball courts, a basketball court and a state of the art exercise pavilion. I drive almost 20,000 miles a year, because my brother and I cover two counties for our real estate business.  Much of our business is referrals so we travel ocean to Everglades- Pembroke Pines to West Palm Beach.  That is A LOT of Time in your car. When I was younger, it made me crazy to drive the same car more than two years, so I was the perfect leasing candidate.  It was as if I wore THE SAME DRESS EVERYDAY for two years.....Its boring!  I just had to get a new one as often as possible!! The Charge! melody is now under dispute by the man who claims to have written it, Bobby Kent of Pompano Beach, FL. If his claim has merit then he could stand to make thousands a year in royalties.
