Are you thinking about selling your house? If so, you may want to make it a priority to start the process soon. According to realtor.com, the sweet spot for sellers is just around the corner. In a recent study, experts analyzed housing market trends by looking at data from the past several years (excluding 2020, since it was an atypical year). When applied to the current market, experts determined the ideal week to list a house this year. The research says: “Home sellers on the fence waiting for that perfect moment to sell should start preparations, because the best time to list a home in 2022 is approaching quickly. The week of April 10-16 is expected to have the ideal balance of housing market conditions that favor home sellers, more so than any other week in the year.” If you’ve ...

It felt like we saw the first rally in a while this week, as the market started pricing in not as aggressive. That rally came to an end as more Fed speakers rattled the markets and caused the 10-year to rise to the 2.82% level, which is a resistance level. Looking at the headlines, the comments made weren't too out of bounds, so we aren't sure why the market sold off as hard as it did besides it being an early close and that was the path of least resistance. It is best to be safe here as this is a choppy, volatile market.Initial Jobless Claims  Initial Jobless Claims were up 18k to 185k for the week of April 9th from a revised 167k in the prior week (orig. 166k). The 4-week moving average of headline claims rose 2k to 172.3k, still the second lowest in the history dating back to 1967. C...

WE ARE NOT ACCOUNTANTS, CPAs, AND DON'T TAKE THIS AS TAX ADVISE!!Q:  What’s the number one mistake you think Americans make when filing their taxes? A:  This one is easy...WAITING UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!!  Besides the fact that collecting all the materials you’ll need (like W2s, 1099s, student loans and mortgage information) will likely take a little bit of time and can put you in a stressful situation scrambling to find documents – it can also potentially cost you more financially in the long run. Going to an accountant on April 14th will definitely be more expensive than if you take care of things earlier in the year, plus there’s the added possibility of the costs of having to file an extension if you can’t get everything organized and filed on time - especially for those that need to...

Decluttering is the perfect activity right now. And for the most part, you will find that chucking unused kitchen gadgets or an old pair of shoes will make you feel lighter, calmer, and all the more ready to tackle whatever this fall season brings. However, in the big push to do some high-impact decluttering, many people get rid of things they later wish they’d kept. For instance, I got rid of my grandparent’s Pendleton blanket (a nice memory from childhood sleepovers) when I moved across the country; I’d give most anything to have it back now. And a friend misses old letters from high school that went into the trash; but really, how much space do a few pieces of paper really take up?So before you purge past the point of good reason, lean on some 20/20 hindsight and peruse this list of t...
