The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently concluded a three year project, updating Broward county's flood maps. As a result of that study, as reported by the Sun-Sentinel newspaper , two Florida cities, Pembroke Pines & Miramar have much to be happy about. Much of Pembroke Pines will be removed from the flood zone, with only about 12 parcels, including the Academic Village, Shops of Pembroke Gardens & parts of Century Village, remaining in the flood zone and subject to required flood insurance coverage, per the report.
