Traveling to new places and finding native species in those areas is such a welcome sight for photographers like me who appreciate learning about birds that I am unfamiliar with. This one I have ID'd thanks to my Merlin,allaboutbirds.org program. You download the photo, click on the bill, the eye and the tip of the tail and it brings up your bird (hopefully)!This one is the Common Gallinule (which I find to be not-so-common on looks!)His feet have the same coloring as his bill...you can barely see it reflected underwater.
