Cooler Temperatures and clear skies have brought the buyers back to this area.  Even our local shimpers are reporting that business is almost back to normal levels.  It is the best time of the year to visit our area.  Absolutely beautiful and the monarch butterflys have just arrived.  One of my clients told me yesterday she saw a whale out in the Gulf of Mexico and the dolphins are extra playful right now jumping clear up and out of the water doing spins like they are all part of a paid act.  Don't miss this area.  This is a must see area for your fall vacation.  Hope to see you soon. Read this at your own risk.....you may get dizzy. The government is involved. You've probably heard that scary line before..... "I am from the government and I am here to help". I love my country, I love everything it stands for, but bureaucracy is truly a mess. Here's the background, I have a rental condo on the beach in Florida on the gulf coast with income affected from the oil spill. I filed loss claims with BP Oil directly. Everything was working smoothly. I submit a claim for the lost revenue for the month, BP processed it quickly, called with questions, mailed out a check. If you called them you got right through to your claim adjuster, no waiting. One claim number throughout, just show the loss each month and they processed it. Are you fair?  I cringed the other day when standing in front of another Realtor who had no idea she broke about every Rule of the Fair Housing Act in one long explanation in front of my buyers about a particular property and location of it.  I was embarrased and outraged with this listing agent for not knowing the law.  Make sure when dealing with buyers you know the laws and stay within them.  Discrimination of any kind is just plain WRONG. A string of positive economic reports on the housing market over the past few weeks show the hangover from the first-time homebuyer tax credit is easing and demand for housing is slowly increasing. New home sales for August were of their lows from July and existing home sales rose a better than expected 7.6%. Perhaps the best news of the past week was the Commerce Department’ s report that new home construction surged 10.5% in August and 2.2% from a year ago. Many economists feel builders are beginning to anticipate a future shortage of housing when the economic recovery gets into full gear. Home prices also showed a 3.2% year-over-year increase in July according to the S&P Case-Schiller Home Price Index.
