Palm Harbor citizens can celebrate the fact that the city is bringing reclaimed water to more homes! The city is laying pipes Belcher and US 19 (east-west boundaries) and Alderman and CR 39 (east-west boundaries) to expand the area already benefiting from being able to water their lawns and shrubs with reclaimed water.The additional eight miles of pipes is costing the city $1.5 million, but it is a project that we desperately need as we see our local water shortages increasing and drought conditions not improving. Here are more photos taken at Wall Springs Park last weekend. This first one is looking out into the estuary that leads to St Joseph's Sound. This area was full of small birds fishing along the shore in the shallow waters. This shot of the springs shows how isolated the actual former swimming area is. There is such lush vegetation surrounding the place that it is a photographer's paradise! I love this shot of the Juniper berries and the water plants along the shoreline! Blue skies and sunshine! Who could ask for more? Like so many of the parks in Pinellas County, Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor has boardwalks everywhere! It is a wonderful place to take the family for a day outside! A couple of days ago I wrote about Wall Springs Park on DeSoto Blvd in beautiful Palm Harbor and I promised to provide you with some photos soon. Well, here they are!!!This park has a wonderful spring that used to be open to the public for bathing until the 1960's. Here you can see what remains of the steps for the public to enter the bathing area. The actual spring is enclosed by a circular area and a small waterfalls allows the water to flow out into the lake.You can see how clear this cool spring water is! It looks inviting!
